Sr. Electrical Engineer (Full-time/Permanent):

BER is seeking a Senior-level Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in either our main office in North Easton, MA or in our RI office in Warwick.  Both locations are easily accessible from major highways and come without the hassle of a big city commute and traffic. We are looking for someone who is strongly motivated, well-organized, and shows professional initiative. This role is for someone who has the ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team. This is an in-office position. 

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will be able to perform electrical engineering designs with minimal assistance from other senior staff Engineers and Principals.  Further, the candidate will be able to manage their own projects and project teams. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of a project from concept through design, bidding and permitting support, through construction. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, become part of a talented and fun team and have a client-centric attitude. 

Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in electrical engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer managing all aspects of project electrical design.

Responsibilities:

  The following are essential for this position:

  • Managing projects from conceptual design level through construction administration
  • Field verification and documentation of existing conditions for renovation projects
  • Writing reports and performing due diligence analysis on existing building infrastructure
  • Full design capability from schematic programming through construction documents
  • Providing design direction for junior level staff (designers and drafters)
  • Participation in meetings with clients to provide clear and concise overall understanding of proposed design intent as it pertains to each project
  • Working with Project Managers and Principals to coordinate internal workload for the Electrical Department personnel
  • Successfully communicate and collaborate with the other trade Engineers in-house
  • Construction Administration tasks including: shop drawing reviews, answering RFI’s, field reports and the ability to successfully navigate the closeout process on projects in construction
  • Delivering complete project on-time in a fast-paced environment on a variety of    project types and sizes


The right candidate for this position will also possess these skills and abilities:

  • Competency in production design software such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Mentoring junior engineers and designers
  • The ability to foster working relationships with all clients including architects, owners, owner’s project managers, and contractors.
  • Diversified experience in multiple sectors of design including commercial, industrial, residential, science and technology, and healthcare.
